Bookings for the Activa electric commenced on January 1, 2025, with deliveries beginning in February 2025.

Competitive landscape

The Activa electric enters a competitive market with rivals like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, Ola S1, and Hero Vida V2.

The Activa e: distinguishes itself with its swappable battery system. However, some critics suggest that the battery swapping system and associated monthly rental fees may make it a less attractive option compared to competitors, particularly those with a focus on range and features. 

It's important to note that Honda is pursuing a cautious, wait-and-watch strategy in the Indian EV market, assessing long-term customer acceptance and infrastructure development before scaling up aggressively. They do, however, plan to set up a dedicated EV manufacturing plant in Karnataka by 2028.
